“This (COZA) church will rise from glory to glory”

“God has set COZA church up for our generation, nothing will bring this church down in the name of Jesus Christ. “

“Our Pastor here (Fatoyinbo) by the grace of God, will continue to be the voice of God, to proclaim to the nations of the world, the mystery of Jesus Christ”

–         PASTOR ISRAEL AKANJI, CHAIRMAN, ZONAL CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA (NORTH-CENTRAL ZONE)

“We have not stopped praying for you; the church in Nigeria is praying for you. Come what may, the faith of this church will not shrink,” – REV DR. JONAH SAMSON, CHAIRMAN, FCT CHAPTER, CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA

As social media outrage continues, the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly in Abuja has made available online, a 19 minute video of its special church service detailing how the Christian Association of Nigeria appears to have absolved Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of all guilt with a resounding ‘vote of confidence’ expressed by leaders of the association.

With Pastor Fatoyinbo seated in the front row at COZA Church’s Celebration Service held last Sunday (July 14, 2019) and posted on Youtube by the church, Chairman of the Federal Capital Territory chapter of CAN, Rev (Dr) Jonah Samson and the CAN’s Zonal Chairman for the North Central Zone, Rev (Dr) Israel Akanji emphatically expressed their perception of God’s special grace on COZA and its leadership.

The video titled “COZA Celebration Service: CAN in COZA” vividly reflects the several thousands strong COZA church membership’s continued loyalty in Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo in  spite of allegations of rape made by Mrs. Bisola Dakolo who had alleged being raped by Pastor Fatoyinbo in Ilorin several years ago.

Zonal Chairman of CAN in the North Central states, Rev Dr Akanji who was sharing the rostrum with the chairman of FCT chapter of CAN, Rev Dr. Jonah Samson drew intermittent and loud ovation from the congregation the moment he began with his opening statement.

“My head is loaded with hymns and I thought I knew music until I came to this church; I have only been here for few minutes and I have been greatly impressed and touched and I really pray that God will continue to be glorified in this assembly, in Jesus’ name,” Akanji stated.

Reading a special message from Colosians 1: 3-14, Rev. Dr Jonah Samson noted that Apostle Paul’s message to the people of Collosse aptly applies to Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo and COZA church, stressing that CAN will continue to support them without compromise.

“It is a pleasure being here and I assure you that we are with you and will continue to be with you; we are in support of the church, we are in support of your pastor, we stand by him and this church will continue to march forward.

“I declare that the gates of hell shall not prevail against this church in the mighty name of Jesus.

In Colossians 1, 3- 14, Paul said ‘since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you; the church in Nigeria is praying for you, come what may, the faith of this church will not shrink!

“In verse 9, Apostle Paul said it and we have not stopped praying for you; our prayers are with this church, I pray that this church will rise from glory to glory,” Jonah said before handing the microphone back to Akanji who emphasized that love is Jesus Christ’s core message and stressed that CAN firmly supports COZA Church.

According to Akanji: “The Bible says ‘By this shall all men know that you are my disciples if you have love, one for another; Jesus came to the world because of love and nothing pleases him like love,”.

He also picked Jesus’ Parable of the Good Samaritan in the Book of Luke, Chapter 10 to back the CAN leadership’s position in deciding to support Pastor Fatoyinbo.

“In the journey of life, sometimes we can find ourselves wounded, bleeding and dying; sometimes the people we expect to come and help us are the people that will walk away from helping us but Jesus said that what the good Samaritan did was the right thing because he showed love at a time of need.

“Today, we have come because if anything happens to COZA church, it happens to the body of Christ in Nigeria; I thank God for a church like this because this church is not doing things the way some of us are doing things.

“One of the ways of slaying the enemy is never to use the approach of another person; they put the armour of Saul on David so, he dropped it and took five smooth stones instead and David achieved victory!

“I believe that God has set COZA church up for our generation, to do things differently and our goal is the victory into the Kingdom of God and I pray that nothing will bring this church down in the name of Jesus Christ.

“How can we – FCT CAN chairman and I, chairman of CAN North Central – I could have been living in Nassarawa, Benue, Kwara, Kogi, Niger or Plateau states but by God’s mercy, I am presently living in Abuja; how can the FCT chairman and I hear that one church that God has a plan and purpose for, is going through the Jerusalem-Jericho road and then, we will walk away?

“We will not do such a thing, we are here to just let you know that we are with you in prayer, the Lord will bring you out even stronger.

“Our Pastor here, (Fatoyinbo) by the grace of God will continue to be the voice of God, to proclaim to the nations of the world, the mystery of Jesus Christ.

“So we pray that the lord will stand by you and we want you to know that you are not alone; you have many brothers and sisters that are praying for you,” Akanji said before he and Jonah knelt down to lead the extremely joyful congregation in prayers.
